Matthieu Lazarow, CPA, CA, MBA
Senior Consultant
Matthieu is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over six years of experience in the recruitment industry and 6 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry. Before starting Westrow Recruiting Solutions, Matthieu worked for a Winnipeg based recruitment firm as a Senior Consultant, as well as having worked for a national recruitment firm as a senior consultant. Prior to that, Matthieu worked for three years as a director with a major international recruitment firm. At all three firms, he was recognized as being a top performer both locally and nationally, and was frequently the top biller in the office. Before working in the recruitment industry, Matthieu spent six years working in several roles for a Deloitte, here in Winnipeg, having gained experience in valuations, restructuring, auditing, tax, financial modeling, consulting, and more.
In addition to holding his CPA, CA designations, Matthieu also holds a B. Comm and MBA, both from the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business. Matthieu is one of the very few Manitoba based recruiters specializing in accounting and finance roles who holds an accounting designation. Matthieu is also active in the community volunteering as a coach with Special Olympics Manitoba for the past 15+ years, sitting on boards for the University of Manitoba Alumni Association and for his condo corporation board, and volunteering and donating to many worthwhile organizations such as Winnipeg Harvest.
Over the past 10 plus years, Matthieu has developed great business relationships with both clients and candidates, and he has worked with clients in virtually all industries, and with small, medium, large, publicly traded, and NPO organizations. He prides himself on making sure that he understands what candidates are looking for in a new job to ensure that they take the right job, not just any job. His candidates and clients have continued to show their appreciation for his attention to detail and quality work. His recruiting experience is focused on accounting and finance roles, both permanent and temporary/project, and he has filled hundreds of roles from CFO and VP finance to financial analyst and senior accountant. He won’t be happy until his candidates and clients are 100% satisfied with the service and experience.
Jason McGrevy
Senior Consultant
With over 16 years experience as a professional recruiter and headhunter, Jason is well known and respected as a veteran and expert in the recruitment of senior and specialized finance, operations and executive professionals in the Manitoba market. Jason is a true headhunter, taking the time to fully understand the roles and companies he works with, and spending time to identify the skills, experience and motivators of every candidate he works with. As a result, Jason is extremely successful in targeting and matching the ideal candidate to the perfect company and position. In addition, Jason genuinely cares about the people he works with placing ethics and responsibility above all else.
Jason has a proven track record of filling challenging, difficult to fill, and extremely specialized roles that companies have often been struggling with for several months. Although based in Manitoba, Jason has successfully worked on senior and executive roles in most provinces across Canada from BC to Quebec and has even placed some challenging roles in remote northern locations and he has worked with Canadian companies to place candidates in positions based in the United States.
Jason is analytical, detail oriented and prides himself on quality and diligence in his search process. He will go beyond the initial phone call or meeting with a client, or interview with a candidate to further research and understand a company, the role, a piece of software or technical requirements for a position. He will research the companies and roles that a candidate may have worked with to gain a better understanding of their experience and fit for a particular role. As a result of his diligent approach, Jason is extremely successful in targeting the best candidates for a specific role and ensuring a long term fit and success for both the client and the candidate.
Jason has a diverse background and in addition to over 16 years as a professional recruiter, he also brings more than 10 years of experience working in the banking industry, primarily in Toronto where he held local and regional managerial and senior leadership roles in Retail and Commercial Banking, Business Development, Credit, Securities Compliance, Audit and Investment sales and Advisory services.
After moving to Winnipeg, Jason was approached to join a global recruitment firm where he spent a total of 8 years as a manager and director of permanent placement services and also worked for a number of years in Senior Recruitment roles with smaller boutique professional recruitment and executive search firms.
Jason prides himself on his ability to build strong relationships with clients and candidates, ensuring the best possible fit for the client and the candidate in terms of experience, skill set, culture and personality. Over the past 10 years, Jason has worked with many of Manitoba’s largest companies and top employers as well as smaller private and family-owned businesses, and he has also worked with larger National and even Global companies in placing candidates in a wide variety of senior and executive level positions.
Jason focuses on Executive Search, Finance, Operations and Specialized Recruitment services and has worked on senior and executive roles in multiple areas including Finance, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Construction, Legal, IT, Sales & Marketing and Human Resources.
Outside of work, Jason is extremely passionate about soccer and has been heavily involved and active in the Manitoba Soccer community for over twenty years. He served as a board member and director on the NWYSA board and subsequent FC Northwest Club board for many years and has always been active as a coach, primarily coaching youth premier teams through FC Northwest and more recently taking over the Senior Women’s FCNW Starz Premier Team which he currently coaches.
Dave Pedden
Recruitment Consultant
Dave attended the University of Manitoba where he studied Geography and History. After working for the Federal Government and a major railway organization, Dave ran a franchise hardware store for 8 years in rural Manitoba, before returning to Winnipeg to begin his career in the automotive field, where was working with major distributors and specialty stores. Working in the automotive industry allowed Dave to expand his knowledge in business development, achieving several prestigious national quality awards. From there, Dave continued his career in Sales, Business Development and Recruitment with various companies here in Winnipeg.
Dave spent some time working doing driver recruitment for a professional truck driving school, in order to help fill many trucking jobs in a highly competitive and demanding industry. After that, Dave continued to work in sales, business development and consulting roles. Dave has also served on advisory councils, coached baseball teams, and held positions on the board of directors for two curling clubs. Dave's goal is to help find great positions for Westrow Recruiting Solutions' candidates and help Westrow Recruiting Solutions' clients find great candidates.
